Daniel C. Silverman, MD, MPA
Executive Coach
Danny Silverman is an Executive Coach with MEDI. He is a physician executive with extensive experience at premier academic institutions (Harvard University, Princeton University) major healthcare organizations (Harvard Medical School, BJC HealthCare System, Washington University School of Medicine, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore), and consulting organizations (CSC/APM Healthcare Consulting, Keeling and Associates Higher Education Consulting). Throughout his career he has shown the ability to think strategically, drive innovation, develop leaders, and create programs that improve the health, wellbeing and career success of others.
Before launching his current coaching and consulting practice, Danny served as Chief Medical Officer of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, the flagship acute care facility of LifeBridge Health System. There he developed the role reporting directly to the CEO which included leading all Chiefs of Service, the more than 1,200 credentialed physicians and worked closely with the senior executive leadership team and the Board of Trustees. He was the physician champion for healthcare quality improvement and clinical effectiveness, clinical informatics, and physician integration strategy. He also served as the Executive Medical Director of Sinai Physician Partners.
Prior to joining LifeBridge Health, Danny was Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of University Health Services at Princeton University. In this role, he facilitated collaborative efforts of the student affairs and campus life units to design, develop and implement several innovative health and wellness initiatives including the Healthier Princeton Program, the Princeton Depression Awareness Program and the multi-college, National College Depression Partnership.
Danny has vast experience in building coalitions of departmental chairs, physicians, allied health professionals, and administrators to develop and implement population-based healthcare programs. He’s worked closely with physician leaders, hospital and health plan administrators and allied healthcare professionals in the redesign and continuous quality improvement of clinical delivery systems in community and teaching hospitals and academic medical centers in the United States and Canada.
Dr. Silverman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude majoring in psychology and pre-medical studies at the University of Michigan. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
